The Crime Map is an excellent tool for those who want to find out what’s going on around their neighborhood. You can also sign up for alerts to be notified about recent crime activity through a daily, weekly, or monthly email. This Crime Map covers many areas across the United States.

Lost Property Report
We all lose things, but SLPD may be able to help you find them. The online Lost Property Report is helpful for residents who need proof that they’ve reported a lost item (e.g. handgun, passport, license plates) to a police agency. Once the report is submitted, it goes to SLPD’s Records Division, who sends it to the Lobby Officer. The Lobby Officer will then submit all the necessary information and open a call at the location where the property was lost.

Report Criminal Activity
Did you know that SLPD has an online crime reporting tool? While this is not intended to be used to report emergencies, the crime reporting tool is a great place to report things like damage to your property, fraud and theft. Nextdoor and Facebook are not the appropriate channels for emergency services, to report suspicious activity or file a report. Please call 911 for emergencies or 281-275-2020 for non-emergency situations.

Victim Assistance Program
The Victim Assistance Program works to provide long-term guidance to crime victims in the form of advocacy, assistance in navigating the legal system, referrals to services like long-term counseling and shelters, and emotional support. The program is under the Criminal Investigations Division, which deals with serious crimes such as sexual offenses, murder, and robberies. The services are free of charge and available to innocent victims.

Meeting someone online can quickly turn for the worse. That’s why SLPD made their front parking lot at 1200 Hwy. 6 available for individuals looking for a safe place to complete online transactions. It is a highly visible, public location that can be used 24 hours a day for non-commercial operations or businesses.
Child Safety Seat Inspections
Properly securing your child in their safety seat could mean the difference between life and death. SLPD has safety seat technicians—certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration—that are available to help ensure that your child seat is properly installed. If you’re interested in a car safety seat inspection, give SLPD a call at 281-275-2020.

The Emergency Notification System is a communication service that allows the City to notify residents about alerts like HazMat incidents, bomb threats, natural disasters, and road closures. Notifications are customizable; residents can choose to be notified via email, text and/or phone.
