Applications open for Sugar Land zoning, ethics and 4B boards

Calling all Sugar Landers: Applications are open for volunteers to join Sugar Land’s Independent Ethics Review Board, Sugar Land 4B Corporation, and the Zoning Board of Adjustment. This is a great way to get involved with your community and help craft the bold vision of Sugar Land through community engagement efforts that help us understand how to better care for our neighbors. Independent Ethics Review Board

Nine Sugar Land residents serving three-year terms make up the Independent Ethics Review Board, which enforces Rules of Ethical Conduct for city officials like City Council and appointed board members. The rules cover topics like conflicts of interest, restrictions on political activity and contributions, and more.

Zoning Board of Adjustment

The Zoning Board of Adjustment consists of five regular members and three alternate members serving a two-year term. This board hears and decides on appeals to administrative decisions on zoning regulations, requests special exceptions and variances, and interprets the intent of the zoning ordinance.

Sugar Land 4B Corporation

The Sugar Land 4B Corporation consists of seven directors appointed to two-year terms who promote, assist, and enhance economic development activities and quality of life opportunities within the City to encourage economic development.
