City offices will be closed on Monday, January 2 for New Years, but there will be NO impacts to your solid waste schedule. In fact, you’ll have an extra bulky waste day to help with your post-holiday purging! Your extra bulk waste day will be based on when you receive your usual bulk waste collection. Not sure about your collection day? Visit http://www.sugarlandtx.gov/MyNeighborhood. Want to find your holiday bulky waste day? Visit http://www.sugarlandtx.gov/holidayschedule
We also know you may be wondering what to do with your Christmas tree (real or artificial). Residents can place live Christmas trees out for collection on regular weekly green waste collection days. Ornaments, tinsel and lights must be removed for collection – Christmas trees should not be disposed of in city parks! Artificial Christmas trees can be disposed of on a bulky waste collection day, but just make sure that trees are disassembled before placing them at the curb for collection.
Finally, fireworks (including sparklers) are prohibited in Sugar Land. If you’d like to enjoy some fireworks, might we recommend watching this instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4nJptgwIE0. It’s climate controlled AND won’t catch your neighbor’s roof on fire!
- Non-emergency questions: 311, or, 281-275-2900
- Sugar Land Police Department (non-emergency): 281-275-2020
We hope everyone has a safe and happy start to 2023!
