Community Engagement

Sugar Land Community Hub allows residents to meet where they are

The City of Sugar Land has launched a new way for you to meet fellow moms, readers, coffee lovers and everything in between with the click of a button.

The Sugar Land Community Hub (SLCH) is designed to break down the barriers of meeting new people by being a hub to create and curate events all around Sugar Land. Users are able to log onto the platform and search for local events and gatherings, as well as create their own groups based on interest. Love coffee? Look for a weekly coffee event hangout. Are you a new mom that needs some advice? Find a mom group or create one of your own!

“We’re so excited to launch this new community engagement platform for Sugar Landers,” Public Affairs Strategist Jennifer Williams said. “Sugar Land is one of the first in the country to use this platform, and we can’t wait to see what local gatherings come from it.”

Creating an event is easy. First, log in to the SLCH platform. From there, you can either create a local group or add an event going on in the community. After submitting a few details, your group or event will be published to the platform for all other SLCH users to see! All events and groups will be approved by SLCH admins before publication to the platform.

SLCH wants to empower you cultivate your community within Sugar Land and is a great one-stop-shop to find information about all the local offerings, events, and activities in our city.

“We want to create a spot where residents could focus on finding their people,” Williams said. “No one in this city is alone, and we want to make sure that the Sugar Land Community Hub reflects that and offers them the opportunity to build a community right in their own backyard.”
