Sugar Land on track to complete first pass collection for Beryl Storm Debris

Contractors have completed first pass for vegetative debris collection in 8 of 14 zones. Our total collected to date is over 125,000 cu yds. As areas are reported completed, supervisors are confirming collection and Sugar Land debris management staff is checking for accuracy. When you report an area was not collected or was missed, we are checking to make sure it was completed and not missed. Contractors are going back to collect cul-de-sacs that were not addressed last week. Contractors will begin second pass soon in zones that have been completed for first pass. All zones will be completed for first pass this week.

Construction & Demolition collection and street sweeping has also started in various zones across the city. Due to the regional impacts of Hurricane Beryl, our contractors are experiencing extended wait times to dispose of construction and demolition materials, which is prolonging their return to the zones they are collecting. They are unable to control this, but are working hard to get these items collected.

For all collections, please help us by making sure you have your items out at the curb and free of obstructions so that your items are not missed.

So that you are informed of when they will be in your zone, notices are being sent via TextMyGov to the zone contractors will be working in, when these passes begin. If you are not registered, visit http://www.sugarlandtx.gov/textmygov to register for these texts and your neighborhood specific information. This information is also shared via Nextdoor.

Due to the varying amounts of debris in each zone, a schedule of expected debris pickup is not available. To find your zone, visit http://www.sugarlandtx.gov/zones and search your address on the map, using the search tool on the upper right corner.

We look forward to celebrating first pass completion with you!
