A friendly reminder to all of our great Sugar Landers: The City is responsible for street sweeping on major thoroughfares — not residential streets. But YOU are responsible for keeping the storm drains in front of your home clear!
This time of year, pollen and leaves are falling due to the change in season. Some of it may be falling into storm drains when it shouldn’t be. The City regularly sweeps major city thoroughfares, but residents are responsible for making sure that their neighborhood stays nice and tidy! If the streets aren’t clear, it can lead to major consequences like street ponding during severe weather events.
The map below outlines which streets the City is responsible for sweeping.
