Don’t miss out: Discounted rain barrels back for one time only in 2023

The City of Sugar Land is excited to announce the relaunch of its discounted rain barrel sale! Due to popular demand, we’ve listened to our residents, secured more barrels and are re-opening orders. Beginning Wednesday, January 11, Sugar Landers can place an order for a rain barrel at a subsidized rate of $45.

Discounted barrels are limited to 1 per household, and sales are limited to City of Sugar Land water customers. One additional barrel can be purchased at the regular $77 price. Make sure you’re eligible for the program by visiting http://www.sugarlandtx.gov/MyNeighborhood to confirm your address falls within city limits. Once you’re ready to place an order, visit http://www.rainbarrelprogram.org/sugarlandtx and have your water bill account number handy to verify your address. There are a limited number of barrels available, so be sure to order yours as soon as possible — once they’re gone, they’re gone!

All rain barrels purchased are shipped in bulk to Sugar Land and available for pick-up on Saturday, March 4 from 8-11 a.m. Details are sent following your purchase.

Rainwater harvesting is a water conservation strategy outlined in the City’s Integrated Water Resources Plan. Rain barrels are a relatively inexpensive and effective way to make a difference in your own backyard.  Water collected from roof gutter downspouts can be used for gardens and landscapes! The Public Works Department is thrilled to be able to offer this discounted rain barrel program to our residents.
