The City of Sugar Land is excited to invite residents to its inaugural community service day, Lend a Hand, Sugar Land, on Saturday, April 12 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Smart Financial Centre parking lot (18111 Lexington Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479)!
Lend a Hand, Sugar Land is a community-driven event focused on giving back. Their mission is to “bring people together through acts of service, empowering individuals to create meaningful change and ensuring Sugar Land remains a vibrant and welcoming community—as sweet as its name.”
Kick off will begin bright and early. Volunteers will gather to receive assignments, supplies, and, most importantly, a good dose of community spirit! Please note, volunteers must have their own form of transportation. From yard work to painting there’s a task for everyone. These efforts are all about improving public spaces and lending a helping hand to our neighbors.
Carrie Paxton-Lamke, Assistant Communications and Community Engagement Director, shared “Lend a Hand, Sugar Land is about more than just beautifying our city – it’s about bringing our community together.”
But we can’t do it alone. The city is reaching out to local businesses, organizations, and individuals for donations, volunteers, and sponsorships. Whether it’s tools, supplies, food, or financial support, every contribution helps equip volunteers.
