City of Sugar Land invites residents to Earth Day Celebration on Town Square

In honor of Earth Day, the City of Sugar Land, with support from Keep Sugar Land Beautiful (KSLB), invites the community to join us for a day of environmental education, fun, and sustainability at the Earth Day Celebration on April 19, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Town Center Plaza.

This family-friendly event will feature music, engaging activities, recycling opportunities, paper shredding, and games for all attendees.

Event Highlights:

  • Interactive Activities: Enjoy hands-on experiences that promote eco-friendly habits and raise awareness about environmental issues.
  • Recycling Opportunities: Bring your recyclable materials and textiles to be properly disposed of, and learn practical tips on reducing, reusing, and recycling.
  • Educational Demonstrations: Discover how to compost, use a rain barrel, and explore other sustainable practices.
  • Paper Shredding: Safely shred old documents to protect your personal information and reduce paper waste. (Limit of 2 boxes per resident, available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City Hall Surface Parking Lot)
  • Games: Enjoy eco-themed games for all ages that teach about conservation and environmental impact.
  • City Services: Connect with Sugar Land departments to learn about water conservation, stormwater management, solid waste, and more.
  • Student Art Display: View environmentally-themed artwork created by local students, showcasing their passion for protecting our planet.

Parking: Parking will be available in the garage adjacent to City Hall.

Accepted Recyclable Materials:

  • Textiles (clothing, linens, shoes, etc.)
  • Mixed Paper
  • Aluminum
  • Plastics 1-5 and 7
  • Glass bottles and jars
